When I saw that this week's "Share the Beauty" prompt was about foundation, concealer, and the like, I got SUPER excited because it means I get to share one of my all-time favorite makeup items!
I know -- how can someone get so excited about a single makeup product? Just trust me...
Clinique's "All About Eyes" concealer is kind of miraculous. Yes, miraculous. There are many days I rush out of my house, late for work, and forego most other forms of makeup, but I rarely skip the "All About Eyes." It really, truly, without exaggeration almost completely eliminates under-eye circles and goes on super-smooth so you don't have to trade bright eyes for the appearance of fine lines (I'm only 28, but I think most women have smile lines around their eyes by the age of four!).
Clinique is no saint when it comes to ingredients (being allergy-tested and 100% fragrance free doesn't mean "organic," people!), but in this case, I don't care. It's just too good.
Another favorite of mine is Benefit's Erase Paste. As the name "paste" implies, it's a bit thicker than Clinique's concealer, so despite the Benefit claims that you can use Erase Paste under-eye, I skip it in this region. I've tried it (yes, in place of my beloved Clinique!) and it's just a little too "paste-y" for the eye region (i.e., a little too drying).
That said, I LOVE LOVE LOVE it for blemishes! I use a concealer brush (this one from e.l.f. is amazing and it's only $1.00! Find it at Target, ladies) to apply and it's just awesome. It can get cakey toward the end of the day if you use too much of it, and this might be a no-brainer, but don't leave it in the hot car -- it'll melt and the ingredients separate (yeah, I suck).
Last but not least, remember philosophy "the present" I talked about a couple of weeks ago? It's a "clear foundation" in addition to being a moisturizer, so I figured it should be included here, too -- read about it here!
